The Alpha's Return

Chapter 84 - Dr. Marianno

"We have a lot of time. You better get started. If you had time to wait for seven days, surely you have time for a story.", Lucas said.

Praneeth sighed. "I don\'t remember the years. It was back when kings were supreme, and churches were more powerful. He was a part of a corrupt church that clearly strayed from its practice. I was traveling through the world at this point, going on a pilgrimage for the maha shiva when I came across a village.", Praneeth started.

"Okay, you are right. The story is getting a little too long. Just get to the important points.", Lucas interrupted.

"Dr.Marianno is a mad scientist. He is the very definition of one. Maybe even Frankenstein took his inspiration from him. Dr. Marianno wanted to create the perfect human. He abducted children from the village, and he conducted experiments on them to try and change their whole bodies. It was a terrifying sight to see. When I discovered the operation, I immediately took it upon myself to vanquish this evil person.", Praneeth said.

"This is bad though. This all but confirms that the marquess and her operation has the support of the underworld. We need to inform the gods. When will you be able to contact the gods?", Lucas asked Praneeth.

"The next summary that I will have to give, is scheduled to be in... half a century. After all, I gave my report just a few months ago, and then I received this news of Lucas, and I rushed here.", Praneeth said.

"Isn\'t that a little too coincidental?", Arthur asked.

"You idiot. How is it coincidental? The marquess must have known that the gods would be withdrawing from the mortal world for the next fifty years, and must have started her operation immediately after knowing this.", Lucas said.

"But how will she be privy to such information? Few know how this works, and fewer know when the meetings happen.", Arthur said.

"You do not have to be worried that there is a traitor amongst our midst, Arthur. Every single one of us is a part of the council because of their dedicated support to the gods, and their cause.", Praneeth said.

"All of us, except for one person.", Arthur replied.

"If you are trying to say that I am a traitor, then come out and say it. Don\'t be a coward and use those stupid loops to suggest it.", Lucas stood up and shouted at Arthur."

"Fine then. I am calling you a traitor. Who knows when Fenrir might have awakened? Maybe you just kept this all is secret and only called us to trick us into going to the wrong direction.", Arthur said.

"Alright. I don\'t have to take this bullshit. I trusted all of you so much that I was willing to stay unconscious in someplace that I have only visited twice before, and that too for a whole week. I was defenseless for two weeks, surrounded by seven people that could kill me, and you think that I am the traitor?", Lucas shouted.

"And that is why I asked if this was a shouting match. Everyone shut the hell up!", Raphael also shouted. Lucas and Arthur glanced at Raphael.

"Anyone could have gotten the information that the gods would withdraw from the mortal world every fifty years, and hand down the judiciary capacity to a council. This is actually common knowledge now. And just recently, the dates of the same have also been made public.", Raphael said.

"What?! Where?", Arthur cried out with surprise.

"Check your phone. I sent you a link.", Raphael said.

Almost immediately, the phone in Arthur\'s pocket buzzed.

"Did you send it to me?", Lucas asked as he reached for his phone. "Oh yeah, its dead as well. Damn it.", he took out a broken and shattered phone from his pocket.

"Again? Maybe next time you should get one of those rugged smart phones that can withstand a throw from so high up.", Michael commented.

"I said, I will have a talk with you later. Save everything that you have until then.", Lucas growled.

"Okay. What the hell happened? Why is he so mad at me?", Michael asked.

"He was unconscious for seven days. It would have been three if not for someone not using one of their precious items.", Praneeth glanced at him.

"You mean the moon drops? Of course, I wouldn\'t give it to him. The last check that he gave to me bounced! It bounced. It was so humiliating, especially because it was a check for a hundred thousand dollars. The bank let me go because I was a regular.", Michael said in defense.

"What? How can my check bounce?", Lucas asked with shock.

"Guys, all of that doesn\'t matter. Look at the link that Raphael sent me. There is a post in this thing called the , and it has so many things that I thought were supposed to be kept private between the council and the gods.", Arthur said with shock.

"Oh? That website? Isn\'t that being maintained by Hermes\' sons? Why would that have content that would actively damage the gods?", Praneeth asked.

"You knew about this website?", Arthur asked Praneeth with shock.

"You didn\'t? It was like sent to your messages when it was released. We use it to send messages to the supernatural community. It is much easier than traditional messaging.", Praneeth said.
